Do you offer custom-built Temperature Control Units?

Yes, customisation is one of Boe-Therm’s core strengths. What delivery time can I expect for a Boe-Therm TCU?

Standard Boe-Therm models typically ship in 3-4 weeks from order confirmation. Custom configurations can take longer depending on scope; we confirm the delivery date with your order confirmation. For urgent requirements, contact our sales team and we will find the best solution for your project.

What industries use Temperature Control Units?

TCUs are used across a wide range of industries including injection moulding (mould temperature control), die casting (die temperature regulation), food and beverage production (process heating and cooling), chemical processing (reactor temperature control), pharmaceutical manufacturing, rubber and plastics production, and composites manufacturing. Any industrial process requiring precise, repeatable temperature control between 10°C and 350°C can benefit from a TCU.

What is the difference between water and oil TCUs?

Water-based TCUs operate from ambient to 160°C and offer efficient heat transfer, fast response times and low operating costs. Oil-based TCUs reach temperatures from 150°C to 350°C and are essential for high-temperature processes like die casting, extrusion, and certain chemical applications. Water TCUs are the right choice for the majority of industrial applications. Our engineering team can help you determine which medium suits your specific process requirements.

How do I optimize energy consumption in my cooling system?

The biggest saving is right-sizing: heating capacity, pump and cooling matched to your actual process load rather than a catalogue step. An oversized unit wastes energy every operating hour. Beyond sizing: keep heat exchangers clean, insulate piping, and verify sensor calibration so the unit is not compensating for bad measurements.

Can TCUs work with different heat transfer fluids?

Yes, Boe-Therm TCUs are compatible with water, thermal oil, glycol mixtures, and specialty fluids. The choice of heat transfer fluid depends on the temperature range and process requirements. We help you select the optimal solution for your application.

What TCU size do I need for my application?

The right size depends on your process: the mass and material of the mould or vessel, the target temperature, how quickly you need to reach it, and how much heat the process itself adds. Enter your process data and it returns the heating capacity, pump and cooling combination that matches. If your application falls outside the standard programme, our engineers size it with you directly.

How often should TCU systems be maintained?

Routine maintenance should be performed every 3 months with filter checks, fluid level inspections, and temperature sensor verification. Annual service includes calibration, heat exchanger cleaning, and pump inspection. Critical components are inspected every 6 months.

What are the benefits of energy-efficient cooling systems?

A cooling system sized to the actual load runs fewer compressor and pump hours, lasts longer and needs less maintenance. Right-sizing also removes the standby losses an oversized system carries through its whole service life.

What is a TCU and how does it work?

A TCU (Temperature Control Unit) is a precision temperature control system that regulates temperature in industrial processes by circulating heat transfer fluid through closed loops.
